Monitoring

To display the service list, go to the Monitoring section in the Monit24 Dashboard.

  1. Open the list by clicking the Monitoring icon in the left-hand menu.
  2. The screen displays all services assigned to the account.
  3. Use the Search field to find a service by name.
  4. Sort and filter the list using:
    • Sorting – by name, status, type, or group
    • Group – filter by selected group
    • Archived services – display archived services
    • Service category – filter by category
  5. Set the number of items displayed on the list, for example 20, 50, or 150. This is a global setting and also applies to other lists in the dashboard.
  6. Click a service tile to open its details.

Tip: Filtering and sorting make it easier to find services when the list contains many items.

Use bulk operations to perform actions on multiple services at the same time.

  1. Select the checkbox next to at least one service. The bulk operations panel appears at the top of the screen.
  2. Choose one of the available actions:
    • pause selected services
    • enable selected services
    • select or clear all services on the list
  3. Additional options include:
    • one-time suspensions
    • SLA adjustments
    • service deletion
  4. Click the required action to apply it to all selected services.

Tip: Use caution when deleting services. This operation is irreversible and causes data loss. To retain data, archive the service instead.

Open a service view to review its details.

  1. Click the selected service tile.
  2. Check the service status. If the screen is not greyed out, the service is active and regular checks are being performed.
  3. Review the basic information displayed below the service name:
    • time since the last status change
    • service type
    • group
    • check interval
    • service ID and tolerance
  4. Use the icons to open the list of services in the group or the group information view.
  5. The status section shows the current state, its duration, and a button for running an immediate check.
  6. The latest check results include the most recent successful and failed analysis.
  7. The service view also shows configured notification addresses and the service owner when the service is shared from another account.

Tip: The analysis result depends on the configured tolerance, which determines what percentage of locations must return a successful result for the service to be considered operational.

Use the chart in the service view to analyze check results.

  1. The bar chart presents check results for the selected time range. The X-axis shows time in hours, days, or months, while the Y-axis shows the percentage of SLA compliance.
  2. Use the arrows above the chart to move the time range. You can also zoom in by selecting a chart area.
  3. Hover over a bar to display detailed information about the corresponding check. The bar below the chart shows the SLA compliance level.
  4. Set a custom date range, down to the second, or use quick ranges: last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days; previous day, week, or month.
  5. Use the time-range lock icon to compare charts for different services within the same period.
  6. Analyze history in sortable sections and export data to CSV:
    • Check history – all checks with time, result, location, and response time
    • Status changes – service status changes and their duration

Tip: Additional error details help identify the root cause and speed up troubleshooting.

  1. Navigation in the line chart works in the same way as in the bar chart.
  2. You can analyze results by location by displaying all locations, selecting one monitoring station, or analyzing individual steps in advanced scenarios.
  3. Instead of an SLA bar, the area below the chart shows the average performance.
  4. Values are updated dynamically based on the selected time range and location filters.

Use the suspension schedule in the Monit24 Dashboard to plan monitoring interruptions.

  1. Select the suspension type: one-time or recurring on a weekly schedule. You can suspend monitoring, notifications, or both.
  2. Suspensions are useful during scheduled maintenance when a service may be temporarily unavailable. Check results collected during the suspension do not affect SLA calculations.
  3. Select the start and end time, enter a description, choose the suspension option, and click Add.
  4. When the suspension period ends, the functionality is resumed automatically. You do not need to re-enable the service or notifications manually.

Tip: Suspensions prevent false alerts during planned downtime and support accurate SLA measurement.

To configure service notifications, open notification settings in the service details.

  1. Select the channels used to send service status notifications:
    • Alerta.io
    • standard, extended, or short email
    • Gadu-Gadu
    • Jabber
    • JSON POST
    • Microsoft Teams
    • PagerDuty
    • Push
    • Rocket.Chat
    • Signal
    • Slack
    • SMS
  2. Specify when notifications are sent, for example when an outage starts or ends, while an outage continues, after silent mode ends, or when monitoring is stopped by a user.

You can also configure a notification delay, for example after an outage has lasted for a specified period.

Addresses and settings for individual notification channels can be edited in the settings of the group assigned to the service. Temporary notification suspensions are configured in the suspension section.

Open the edit tab in the service details to change its configuration.

  1. Edit basic parameters such as the service name, group, check interval, and description. For basic services, you can also edit the monitored address.
  2. By default, the service uses locations configured for its assigned group. In Custom locations, you can add or remove selected locations independently of the group settings.
  3. Advanced settings include:
    • HTTP headers
    • timeout for downloading page source code or elements
    • tolerance
    • required or expected HTTP response code
    • other settings depending on the service type
  1. Archiving stops a service and removes it from the subscription while retaining previously collected data. An archived service does not perform new checks, does not affect SLA, and remains available in system history. Archiving can be reversed at any time, provided that the subscription limit allows it.
  2. Deleting a service is irreversible and permanently removes all monitoring data collected for that service.

Tip: To retain analysis history and service statistics, archive the service instead of deleting it.

  1. In the Monitoring section, click the button for adding a new service.
  2. The system displays available monitoring types. Each type includes a brief description and monitoring scope. Select a service type, configure its parameters, and click Save.
  3. After creating the service, configure notification channels, alert conditions, and notification or monitoring suspensions.

Tip: Selecting the appropriate service type ensures that the analysis method matches the monitored scope.

Groups

To display the group list, go to the Monitoring section.

  1. Click the Groups icon in the left-hand menu.
  2. The screen displays all groups created in the account.
  3. Use the Search field to find a group by name.
  4. Sort by name or number of services, and filter by group category: owned or shared.
  5. Set the number of displayed items, for example 20, 50, or 150.
  6. Click a group tile to open its details.

Tip: Filtering and sorting make it easier to find a group when many items are available.

Select a group from the list to open its details.

  1. The group view shows the group name and the number of assigned services and locations.
  2. Options are available for editing or deleting the group.
  3. Notification addresses shows the notification channels configured for services in the group.
  4. Periodic report addresses lists email addresses used for daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
  5. The bottom of the screen shows locations assigned to the group.
  1. In the Groups section, click the button for adding a new group.
  2. Enter a name and click Save. Then edit the group according to your requirements.

Open the edit tab in the group details to change its configuration.

  1. You can change the group name, configure notification addresses and channels, set periodic reports, and add or remove monitoring locations.
  2. The number of available locations depends on your subscription. Monit24 supports monitoring from multiple locations and operator networks across different continents. To add a location, select it from the list and save the changes. If the location limit is exceeded, remove one of the currently assigned monitoring stations.

Reports

To display the report list, go to the Monitoring section.

  1. Click the Reports icon in the left-hand menu.
  2. The screen displays all reports created in the account.
  3. Use the Search field to find a report by name.
  4. Sort reports by name.
  5. Set the number of displayed items, for example 20, 50, or 150.
  6. Click a report tile to open its details.

To create a report, add a report template in the Reports section.

  1. The system supports scheduled recurring reports and ad hoc reports generated on demand.
  2. Configure the template name and description, generation schedule, recipient email addresses, data scope and monitored services, included information, and generation delay relative to the end of the reporting period.
  3. Recurring reports are generated automatically according to the schedule, while ad hoc reports are generated manually.
  4. A live preview of the selected report scope is available during configuration.

Tip: Reports support service availability analysis, SLA tracking, and recurring summaries for clients or technical teams.

Open a report template in the Reports section to review its details.

The template view summarizes the generation schedule, data scope, assigned services and groups, and recipient email addresses. You can also edit the template settings.

The bottom of the screen lists reports generated from the template. For each template, you can generate an ad hoc report and download previously generated reports again.

Tip: Reports saved on the list can be downloaded again at any time.

  1. Any report template can be duplicated with all its settings. Enter a new, unique template name when creating the copy. Duplication makes it easier to create similar reports from an existing configuration.
  2. Deleting a report template is irreversible. Reports generated from the template are also deleted. Only reports previously sent by email as PDF files remain available.

Tip: Duplicating templates allows you to prepare similar reports without reconfiguring every setting.

Locations

To display the location list, go to the Monitoring section.

  1. Click the Locations icon in the left-hand menu.
  2. The screen displays all available locations.
  3. The list allows you to review available monitoring sensors, search by location name, and filter or sort results.
  4. Set the number of displayed items, for example 20, 50, or 150.

To check the DNS response for a selected host from a monitoring station:

  • enter the host or domain address
  • specify the DNS server
  • select the DNS record type
  • click Check

The result verifies the DNS response and the record configuration for the selected address.

Events

To display configured events, go to the Monitoring section.

  1. Click the Events icon in the left-hand menu.
  2. The screen displays all events created in the account.
  3. Use the Search field to find an event by name.
  4. Sort by name and filter by priority.
  5. Set the number of displayed items, for example 20, 50, or 150.
  6. Click an event tile to open its details.

Tip: Filtering and sorting make it easier to find an event when many items are available.

To display event statuses, go to the Monitoring section.

  1. Click the Event Statuses icon in the left-hand menu.
  2. The screen displays the statuses of all events created in the account.
